Carolyn Blankenship is an artist, photographer and teacher.
She grew up in Enterprise, Alabama, went to college at Southeastern Bible Institute, Wallace College, Enterprise Junior College and also took various courses at Troy in Dothan. She has been married
and divorced, raised a couple of outstanding daughters and survived cancer. Twenty six years after the divorce she met and married Jim Blankenship.
In 2009 she retired and decided to “just have some fun painting.” After joining a painting group at Taylor Senior Center she decided that learning more would be even more fun. She painted with several teachers in the area and learned more about art. However, when she heard about becoming a Bob Ross Certified
Instructor she had a goal. The first three-week workshop taught her to paint and teach landscapes. A second three-week workshop introduced her to beautiful floral paintings. She is a certified in the Bob Ross Instructor in the Technique of Wet-on-Wet for landscape and floral painting.
As an accomplished photographer, she enjoys photographing babies, toddlers, pets, family, and friends. All flowers are an attraction she cannot forego. A bird or bug sitting still is just posing for her to take a picture. Many of the photographs will be available for posters, prints or cards.
Now her goal is to share with others the wonderful technique and style which has brought her so much enjoyment.
PS: The picture above is her first Great-Granddaughter. Isn't she beautiful?
